I have no idea how it has happened, but in the last week, it has hit me how fast the boys are growing up. Last week we went to check out a potential preschool for next year, which Carter absolutely loved. Before I put him down for nap, he said "more school." How can they already be old enough for school?? Then Jacob decided that I am no longer "mama" but rather "mommy." I am not even sure where he heard the word mommy but it makes me a little sad :( I love all the new stages but I wish I could slow them down just a little bit.

Road Trip
We made a long over due trip to Ashland this past weekend with the boys for the first time in a year. I was dreading the drive because the boys have recently been saying "out, out," any time we are in the car for more than 20 minutes, let alone 5 plus hours. To my amazement, they did absolutely great!! We left around their nap time and stopped in Eugene for dinner at McDonald's, which they loved and let them run around the Gateway Mall (amazing people watching). Then it was back in the car to watch an Elmo video. They went to sleep for about an hour before we arrived in Ashland. They had a great time at Grandpa and Grandma's house. They loved the park, where Carter discovered it was more fun to walk up slides and Jacob tried to see how fast he could go down it. They also had a great time searching for Grandpa's kitty - George. I was expecting them to cry the whole way home since we never get that lucky, but they did so good. We almost made it all the way home without stopping. They sure proved me wrong!

Happy Halloween!
We had a great time on Halloween! The boys went Trick-or-Treating for the first time this year. They were both Elmo - shocking. Jacob was not to excited to wear his costume, but once we told him that he was going to get to go for a walk outside in it, he was game. They had so much fun walking up to peoples door and saying "trick-or-treat." Carter also tried to walk into a few neighbors houses. In fact, they had so much fun that Jacob was screaming when it was time for us to come home. He would have trick-or-treated the whole night if we would have let him.
