We Got a Pool

Okay, it is not a real pool but rather the little blow-up kind but I thought it would be fun for the boys and get them use to the water before we leave for Maui on Friday.

When I got the pool with the boys on Friday morning, I had it all planned out that while they napped I would get there pool all set-up and surprise them with it. Once they woke-up, I got them all dressed in their swim trunks and covered in sunscreen and out we went to see the new pool! Carter of course was in the pool within minutes splashing water everywhere. Jacob on the other hand was not too happy with me when I placed him in the water and starting screaming to get out - typical. I always have one kid who likes something and one who doesn't. Thankfully Jacob warmed up to the idea and now both boys beg to go outside any chance they get to get in their pool, however they haven't yet figured out that you typically don't go in the pool with all your clothes on :)

Jack enjoyed the pool too!

Getting in the pool with all their clothes on!

Dirt, Dirt and More Dirt

What is it with little boys and dirt? The twins love to play in the dirt and today was no exception. They were playing outside filling up their new dump truck with dirt when they decided it would be more fun to dump barkdust on each other's heads. It happened so fast that by the time I could stop them Carter's head looked more like our flowerbeds than his usually head full of hair. The first thought that went through my head was "is there any way I can just get it out without having to bath both of you?" But that thought quickly left my head when I realized that it was not coming out. So, I had to put both boys in the tub and try to get all the little tiny dirt particles out of their hair. Carter still has some in his hair but at least they are mostly clean :)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Over the past couple of weeks we have been so busy it is hard to even know what day it is, so I thought I would try to update everyone with what we have been up to in one posting so here goes.

Last weekend, I was in my best friends wedding (Congrats Mimi) in LA and Will was able to fly down on Saturday. It was our first night away from the boys together. We had a great time at the wedding and it was heaven to be able to sleep in until 8:00 the next morning. The wedding was beautiful and my friend and her new husband both work for Wolfgang Puck so the food was AMAZING!! What a special treat :)

The boys have been busy, busy, busy as always. They are talking a lot and are having a great time making each other laugh. You should hear them when we put them to bed at night giggling - too cute. Recently, they have started "reading" the newspaper in the morning. They carefully lay out the paper and act like they are really reading it. I guess they want to be just like their daddy since Will's parents always say that he learned to read by reading the newspaper.

As for the house, the new house is going up quickly, maybe a little too quick. Our house is still on the market and while we have had some interest, people aren't exactly beating our door down. Hopefully it will sell soon because keeping our house immaculate with two 19 month olds is EXHAUSTING!
